Services, Fees & More Info
Meeting for the First Time
I offer 50-minute individual clinical counselling sessions virtually through the JaneApp platform (secure and confidential, PIPA and PIPEDA compliant) to residents of BC, and in-person in Squamish, BC. I work with young people 13+ and adults.
If you would like to move forward with therapy here are the next steps:
Step 1:
Reach out here to set up a complimentary 15 minute phone call to see if we will make a good fit (i.e. my competency meets your therapeutic needs). Most people feel a bit nervous at this stage. I am available to answer your questions and share a bit more about the way I work so you can make an informed decision regarding whether or not I am the right counsellor for you. It’s really important to me that you find a therapist you feel comfortable and safe with. If we are not the right match, I will offer you some referrals so you can continue your search.
Step 2:
If we decide to move forward together, book in for your first 50 minute appointment. In this initial session we will go over the consent form and intake form that you will complete prior to your first appointment (you will receive these through JaneApp my booking platform). We will discuss your goals for therapy and how you will know that you’ve met them. Following this we will set up a schedule for weekly or bi-weekly appointments (the frequency will depend on your goals, and may change throughout the course of therapy).
FEES & Policies
My rates are set based on the recommendations of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
$140 + GST ($147) for 50 minute session. Payment is accepted via cash, e-transfer, or credit card and must be paid in full prior to the commencement of the session.
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Full payment for missed appointments is required with less than 24 hours notice, except in the case of an emergency.
For detailed information on the framework of my practice and my policies, please read my consent form.
Insurance Coverage
Third party insurance coverage for clinical counselling services is available through many insurance providers such as Greenshield Canada, Sun Life, Blue Cross, and Canada Life. Most insurance providers require that their clients pay for therapy services directly and submit receipts for reimbursement. Some insurance providers may also require a referral from a physician or pre-approval for services.
It is advisable to check with your benefits plan to determine if you are covered for services offered by an Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), and the extent of the coverage.
I am a registered mental health provider with the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), Walmsley EFAP Program, the PearlSpace Counselling Assistance Fund, and the Tantalus Wellspring “Empowerment and Choice” subsidized counselling program. For more information on eligibility for these mental health benefits programs please visit the linked websites.
